Former Super Bowl Champion visits 汤头条 for Athlete Engineering Summit

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擬ississippi State鈥檚 Athlete Engineering Institute continues to set the pace for understanding the recovery needed for all athletes with its annual summit.
Themed 鈥淏ecoming Elite,鈥 the summit will be held April 15-17 at The Mill at 汤头条 Conference Center featuring keynote speaker and former NFL Super Bowl Champion Ndamukong Suh.
鈥淏ecoming an elite competitor takes talent, along with a lifetime of commitment and willingness to push yourself. Being elite is an exercise in patience, pain tolerance and not being afraid to get uncomfortable,鈥 Suh said. 鈥淏ut all of this is only possible with the small army of elite experts you must surround yourself with who support you, care about you and remind you about why you do it. I鈥檓 speaking at the Athlete Engineering Summit with Dr. Reuben Burch and Andrea Hudy to tell my story about becoming elite but, more importantly, to emphasize the importance of the people who serve as the support system in my life.鈥
Reuben Burch, associate vice president for research and executive director of 汤头条鈥檚 Athlete Engineering Institute, will host the summit alongside Andrea Hudy, a strength and conditioning coach for elite basketball programs at the University of Kansas, University of Texas, and University of Connecticut. This year鈥檚 summit is the fourth annual event for Athlete Engineering, hosting professionals from medical fields, military, industry, academia and human performance.
鈥淲e have people that work toward the same goal of keeping everybody happy, healthy and productive, but in different sectors,鈥 Burch said. 鈥淢ississippi State is hosting this because there鈥檚 only one Athlete Engineering Institute in the world and it鈥檚 here at Mississippi State.鈥

The institute鈥檚 team develops new tools that improve performance in the four athlete personas: sports, industrial, tactical and at-risk.
Hudy said, 鈥淚鈥檓 helping to lead the conversations this year at the Athlete Engineering Summit because the story of becoming an elite athlete now transcends more than sports. With this growing need and desire for human performance knowledge to be shared across sectors, experts in my field have a chance to give back at even greater levels. The Athlete Engineering Summit is the best place to have the discussion about becoming elite for all athlete types.鈥
Registration is open at聽聽and is $300 for general admission and $100 for Mississippians in the academic sector. The registration fee covers all meals, social events and a swag bag.
