ÌÀÍ·Ìõ cancels Thursday classes due to weather

STARKVILLE, Miss.—ÌÀÍ·Ìõ (all campuses) will cancel all in-person classes and activities Thursday [Sept. 12] due to an abundance of caution over predicted inclement weather due to Hurricane Francine. Campus offices will be closed. Severe weather conditions are predicted throughout Mississippi.

ÌÀÍ·Ìõ is urging students, faculty and staff to remain weather aware throughout Thursday [Sept. 12]. Monitor weather conditions and exercise caution and good judgment when traveling. Motorists should not drive through unknown patches of standing water and should approach any standing water with caution. For more preparedness information, visit

For students and staff on campus, available dining locations include Fresh Food Company, Bento Sushi and Subway, along with PODs in Hathorn and Dogwood halls, as well as Maroon Markets in Griffis and the Wise Center. Hours of operation will be posted at  and @msstatedining on social media.

Mitchell Memorial Library, the Sanderson Center and the Colvard Student Union will be closed Thursday.

All campus transit services, including SMART shuttles, will be suspended.
