STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥斕劳诽踱檚 Horticulture Club invites the 汤头条 and local community to its annual spring plant sale, showcasing a vibrant variety of student-grown annuals and perennials.

The sale takes place at the greenhouses at Dorman Hall on Friday [April 4], 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday [April 5] 8 a.m.-1 p.m. or until sold out. All plants are cultivated by 汤头条 students and available for purchase on-site.

Payton Davis, club president and a junior majoring in environmental economics and sustainability from Ocala, Florida, said the event reflects months of preparation鈥攆rom analyzing last year鈥檚 sales data and adjusting for this year鈥檚 prices to starting seeds and caring for the plants daily.

鈥淭his event requires so much planning and hard work, and I am excited to see all of our effort come to fruition,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 look forward to everyone coming out and seeing the fruits of our labor while finding some unique and fun plants to take home.鈥

Richard Harkess, longtime faculty advisor for the club, said the sale offers hands-on learning and helps fund club initiatives.

鈥淭he plant sale is student run, from plant selection and ordering to growing and selling. This is an educational experience for the students with the money being raised supporting student scholarships, club activities and club trips to botanical gardens and other horticultural destinations,鈥 Harkess said.

This year鈥檚 selection features tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, New Guinea impatiens, geraniums, petunias, houseplants and more. Accepted payment methods include cash, check and Venmo.

Anyone interested in joining the club or looking for more details about the plant sale may contact Davis at pmd141@msstate.edu or Harkess at richard.harkess@msstate.edu.
