汤头条 School Psychology Program earns prestigious 10-year APA reaccreditation

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥Mississippi State鈥檚 School Psychology Program has reached a significant milestone, earning a 10-year reaccreditation from the American Psychological Association.

Housed in the College of Education鈥檚 Department of Counseling, Higher Education Leadership, Educational Psychology, and Foundations, school psychology is 汤头条鈥檚 longest standing, accredited psychology program. Widely regarded as the gold standard in the field, the recognition underscores the program鈥檚 unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovative research and impactful community service.

聽鈥淭his milestone reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff and students who strive daily to advance the science and practice of school psychology,鈥 said Kayla Bates-Brantley, assistant professor and program director. 鈥淭he 10-year reaccreditation affirms that we are equipping our graduates with the highest level of preparation to meet the needs of children, families and schools.鈥

Offering both the educational specialist and doctoral degree, the program boasts a 100% match rate for internships at APA-accredited sites for the last decade. Its prestigious match sites include the Johns Hopkins School of聽Medicine-Kennedy Krieger Institute; University of Nebraska Medical Center-Munroe-Meyer Institute; and the May Institute.

APA鈥檚 rigorous accreditation process evaluates programs on multiple criteria, including faculty expertise, research contributions, curriculum design and professional success of graduates. A 10-year accreditation鈥攖he maximum term granted鈥攕ignifies a program鈥檚 outstanding quality and adherence to the highest standards of training and education.
