STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜pproximately 50 National Student Exchange program coordinators learned more about Mississippi State鈥檚 potential for hosting undergraduate learners from across North America today [Oct. 17] during a campus familiarity tour.

The NSE program is a U.S. and Canadian non-profit organization offering student exchange opportunities up to a year at the almost 200 member institutions across the two countries, including Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Coordinators are in Birmingham, Alabama, this week for the program鈥檚 annual meeting.

As part of the group鈥檚 tour, coordinators participated in a meet-and-greet session with school representatives; listened to a history of 汤头条 and the land-grant university system, and the impact of both on education, outreach and research; heard from incoming and outgoing NSE students who discussed their program experiences; and toured campus, with stops at the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library and Barnes & Noble.

More than 123,000 students have participated in the NSE since its founding in 1968. To enter the program, students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, complete at least one academic term before applying and be in good standing at their home campus.
