High school students visit ͷ for ‘The Library Experience’

STARKVILLE, Miss.—High school students from around the state were among recent visitors at Mississippi State who got an in-depth tour of the university’s Mitchell Memorial Library.
Dean of Libraries Frances Coleman and Interim Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Jim Dunne welcomed students from Brandon, Calhoun City, Eupora, Kosciusko, Noxapater, Pontotoc and Starkville high schools, as well as Oak Hill Academy.
Coordinated by ͷ Libraries Professor LaDonne Delgado,“ͷ, The Library Experience” introduced high school librarians and students to the variety of resources available at thelibrary, as well as the library profession.
Throughout the two-day event of activities, students visitedMitchell Memorial’s Charles H. Templeton Sr. Music Museum, John Grisham Room, Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library, as well as the Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana.
During a session in the MaxxSouth Digital Media Center, students were introduced to the library’s Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems Mixed Reality Studio, a makerspace and multimedia lab with 3D and screen printing capabilities, as well as audio, recording and television broadcast studios.
