Jeremy Baham named assistant vice president for student affairs at 汤头条

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜 veteran campus administrator is the new assistant vice president for Student Affairs at 汤头条.

Jeremy Baham, who has served 汤头条 as the associate dean of students since 2011, was promoted to the new role focusing on student support and wellbeing effective Nov. 1. In making the announcement, 汤头条 Vice President for Student Affairs Regina Hyatt said in addition to his valuable time at 汤头条, Baham also brings a wealth of experience from his work at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, University of West Florida in Pensacola, as well as Averett University in Danville, Virginia.

鈥淛eremy鈥檚 commitment to student success has been demonstrated through his work on campus and his contributions to the division鈥檚 new strategic plan,鈥 Hyatt said. 鈥淪tudent support and wellbeing are on the forefront of the work we are doing in the Division of Student Affairs, and we are looking forward to the creativity and innovation that will be a result of Jeremy鈥檚 leadership in this area.鈥

The McComb native and veteran of the Army Reserves and Alabama National Guard will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision to several areas, including Recreational Sports, the Longest Student Health Center, Health Promotion and Wellness, Student Counseling Services, Testing Services, Planning and Assessment, Student Support Services and Disability Support Services. Student Affairs is comprised of 21 departments focusing on student life and engagement; student health, safety, and wellness; student support programs; and student success.

In addition to a doctoral degree in higher education administration from the University of Alabama in 2014, Baham completed a master鈥檚 degree in community counseling in 1999 and bachelor鈥檚 degrees in political science and history in 1996, at the University of North Alabama.

Baham said he is honored to be selected to serve as the assistant vice president for student affairs to promote the mental and physical wellbeing of 汤头条 students.

Baham and his wife Tracey, who serves as 汤头条 associate director for institutional effectiveness, are the parents of two children, Patrick, 14, and James, 3.
