Terry Baker, CEO of the Society of American Foresters, will be the Why Not Me Speaker in celebration of Black History Month.聽As CEO, Baker oversees all of SAF鈥檚 programs and works with his Board of Directors to establish a strategic vision committed to the scientific sustainable management of America鈥檚 forests.

Prior to his selection as SAF CEO in 2018, Baker held a nearly 20-year career with the U.S. Forest Service. He has been a wildland fire fighter, forester and administrator of over 1 million acres.

Baker earned a master鈥檚 degree in forest management and policy from Yale University, a bachelor鈥檚 degree in forest resources and conservation at the University of Florida, and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in agricultural sciences from Florida A&M University.
